UNDER-19S OFF TO WEXFORD
After a week’s break, Tommy Barrett’s high-flying Under-19s face the long trip to Ferrycarrig Park for a Southern Elite Division clash with Wexford Youths this Saturday afternoon, kick-off 2pm.
After bouncing back from their first defeat of the season away to Athlone with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bray Wanderers, Barrett’s charges will be anxious to maintain their positive early-season form that sees them lie in third place.
Wexford come into the game on the back of a good run of form themselves with four points from a possible six and a sixth-place position in the table.
Having conceded just four goals this season, Limerick have the best defensive record in the league and it’s on such foundations that their good results have stemmed. Tommy Holland continues to impress between the sticks and Stephen Nolan, Conor Maguire, Mark Hoban and Eoin Whelan are as solid a unit as there is to offer in the league.
With options throughout the panel for every position which includes experienced senior players Val Feeney and Ross Mann, Barrett will be hopeful of a positive result that will solidify their position as a top-four contender this season.
