Squad News: Sean Kelly agrees terms for 2010 season

Sean Kelly agrees terms

Limerick FC is delighted to announce the signing of the very experienced Sean Kelly for the coming season. Kelly’s previous clubs include Arsenal, Cork City and Galway United and his experience (despite his young age) will be a huge boost to Limerick FC’s chances of winning First Division this year.

Pat Scully was delighted to be able to sign the 22 year old Tralee native, who will be relocating to Limerick for the season ahead. “Sean is a player I was very keen to sign – he had a great season in the Premier Division last year with Galway. He’s a young player with lots of experience and he’s really looking forward to the challenge ahead. It speaks volumes for the direction we’re going as a Club when the best young players around are choosing to sign with Limerick ahead of Cork and Galway, who traditionally would have been seen as more stable options.

“Our reputation is growing and we’re now reaping the benefits of doing our business professionally. Everyone at the club is really looking forward to the season ahead and we will be adding to our squad again over the next two weeks or so.”

Limerick FC begin their pre-season training this Saturday. Pat Scully has already lined up pre-season friendlies against two Premier Division sides in February when St Patrick’s Athletic and UCD will provide the opposition. In between those fixtures Limerick FC will be heading to Breaffy House Hotel for an intensive weekend training camp.
