U14 Division Two: Limerick 2-1 Corbally United B
Limerick maintained their 100 percent record in the U14 Division Two after coming from behind to beat Corbally United B 2-1 at Hogan Park on Saturday morning.
The young Superblues, who had defeated Aisling Annacotty C on Wednesday evening, started brightly again and looked dangerous down the wings and in central midfield.
Playing good football, Steven Grant’s side missed a number of chances in the first half, with the Corbally ‘keeper in fine form.
Corbally were attempting to catch the hosts on the break, with their pacey striker looking to cause problems, but Limerick were defending well and denying any real opportunities.
That was until two minutes before half-time when Corbally broke the deadlock through a direct free-kick.
Limerick, though, kept their heads up and made a positive start to the second half as they remained on the front foot.
Eventually, their good play reaped rewards when a superb ball into the box fell to Chris Jastrzebski who showed great technique to find the back of the net.
Full of hunger, Limerick found a winner with a free-kick of their own from Reece Foley, his strike finding the top corner.
Corbally could well have levelled late on but Rossa Slakpa produced a great last-ditch tackle to deny them, as Limerick held firm to make it two wins from two.
