Friendlies Confirmed: Double Winners Among Pre-Season Opposition

Double winners Dundalk are among Limerick’s pre-season opposition in preparation for their 2016 promotion push, after five friendlies were confirmed by the FAI this week.

The first of those comes next Wednesday, 3 February, when Martin Russell’s side make the trip to City Calling Stadium where they face Longford Town, kick-off 7.30pm, with Ray Matthews down as referee.

The Shannonsiders are on the road again that weekend when they take on Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds on Sunday 7 February, kick-off 3pm. Robert Harvey is the man in the middle for that clash.

Then comes the visit of reigning League Champions and FAI Cup holders Dundalk to the Markets Field on Saturday 13 February, kick-off 6.30pm. That will be the first of three home friendlies, with Cork City the opposition on Thursday 18 February (kick-off 7.45pm) and Galway United making the short trip south on Saturday 27 February (kick-off 6.30pm).

This adds to Limerick’s Munster Senior Cup quarter-final tie with Cobh Wanderers at the Pike Field this coming Saturday afternoon, 30 January, kick-off 2pm.
